40,000 Kissan Card Across Punjab has started Today

The Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has started distributing of 40,000 Kissan cards to farmers across Punjab. The distribution has started from 12 September 2024. The Chief Minister Kisan Card Scheme aims to provide interest-free agricultural loans to small farmers.


They have to make clothes to improve their productivity and financial status. This initiative has been initiated to modernize the agricultural sector of Punjab and provide relief to the farmers.

Kissan Card Eligibility and Registration Process

The Kisan Card Scheme is designed for farmers who own up to 12.5 acres of land. Registration for the scheme is being done online ensuring that farmers from all regions can apply easily. Farmers holding up to 12.5 acres of land are eligible for the Kissan Card Scheme.

  • Farmer’s land must have Punjab Land Record Authority PLRA Mary Card
  • Farmer must have his mobile SIM registered with CNIC which is verified by Pakistan Mobile Database PMD.
  • After registration, farmer information will be verified through the NADRA PLRA and ECIB database
  • Choose to type a new message for registration and SMS to 8070 by writing the PKC space ID card number.
  • After the verification process is completed you will be issued a Chief Minister Kisan Card by the Bank of Punjab.

Objectives of Kissan Card

The Chief Minister Kisan Card Scheme with an allocation of Rs.150 million will be provided for loans to farmers. Focused on ensuring that farmers have the necessary resources to invest in their crops without worrying about the burden of interest on loans, the objectives of the scheme are as follows:

  • Providing interest-free agricultural loans to farmers.
  • Development of small-scale farmers and improvement of agricultural productivity.
  • Facilitating access to inputs and medicines for farmers.
  • To improve and increase the agriculture sector.

Loan Details and Usage

The amount will be 30 thousand rupees per acre and a maximum of 1.5 lakh rupees. The purpose of these loans is to help in the purchase of important agricultural inputs such as:

  • Fertilizers
  • seeds
  • Pesticides
  • Other essential farming information


This financial assistance is expected to substantially reduce the cost burden on farmers, enabling them to increase productivity and enhance crop quality.

Pilot Projects and Additional Support

Apart from the Kisan Card, the Punjab government has started various pilot projects aimed at providing more support to the farmers. A pilot project for agricultural equipment has been started in Okara, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, and Sargodha.


The project will provide farmers with access to high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. This product will also offer advisory services, loans, and other necessary facilities to farmers to improve their farming practices.


The Agriculture Graduate Internship Program has been launched to provide the best projects to farmers. This internship program is going to start next week. Where Agriculture Graduates will provide direct assistance to farmers in the fields using geomaping technology. The program will bridge the gap between modern farming practices and traditional practices.
